Or as I like to call them: "Team Screwed".
One Dies.
One is Transported to another dimension never to return.
One becomes the Digimon Emperor.
There's a lost-to-obscure-japanese-video games, tale between Digimon Adventure 1 (1999) and Digimon Adventure 02 (2002) set in 2000 starring Ken and Ryo, the two to the side of Osamu (center) respectively.
This creates some serious story paradox which I will not elaborate on here but let's just say it gives fans a headache to this day and move on. But that it was alot of fun to think about in moments of boredom.
And barring Daisuke these three characters are the most intriguing to me.
I really would love a return to their story ... Toei. Hint. Do it. But as unlikely as that would ever be it does create glorious fan wonderment. And that is in itself a reason to celebrate Team Screwed - Plotdevice.

I remember that one scene as a child with those three and I wondered whatever happened to Ryo and how the Hell he got there.
